Jack plate on a 461vs
Can I expect any gains from a jack plate on a boat that already has a big setback built in? I’m considering a 4 or 6” rapid jack but part of me thinks its not worth the trouble.
150 Mariner set at 4” below pad. Turning a brand new 23p TRO4 at 5700rpm. Hole shot is good and top end ranges from 58 loaded to 62 solo with decent bow lift. My spare TRO4 has seen a few rocks in its life and still turns 5600rpm with identical speed to the new prop.

You will want a 6 inch, gains on the built in setback rangers are signifigant. They handle like a totally different boat. Should gave come w a 6" from the factory IMO. A rapid jack would not be my first choice in jackplates for sure.

Rapid jack would be the best manual jack plate you can buy.
