    Power pole 1 or 2

I am getting a Ranger Z185 and I need to know if 1 or 2 power poles are needed for docking the boat. I plan to pull up to the dock, jump off, push the boat away from the dock, lower the power pole(s), and then tie off the front cleat to the dock. Will 1 power pole hold the boat away from the dock or do I need 2? I am trying to avoid unnecessary scratches. I know I can beach the boat with 1, just not sure about docking it.

I can do that with mine with 1 Talon so I would say one would be enough. Now I just got another Talon so I can drop both and not tie the front.

if you are going to tie off the front the front will be against the dock. if you don't want scratches id use a bumper.. if you want it to be held away from the dock without tying and no bumpers then you will need 2.

Once you have one, you’ll want a second. They’re that useful.

This is so true. Bought 1 with boat and added second 2 years later. Much happier with 2.
