    Fyi

Update from our Conservation Director: Ryan Hoffman: "The Wisconsin fisheries advisory council will be officially recommending a year long catch and release season for bass, tournament exemptions from special regulations, as well as a recommendation against a reduced bag limit for largemouth."

Finally...hopefully! The current reg. makes no sense. You can fish the heck out of Walleye's, Brown Trout etc on the Lower Fox, & Green Bay from early March on but not Bass...but you can fish bass nearly year round on the entire Lake Winnebago Chain, including the Wolf River. I know there's other similar nonsense in other areas of the state too. When is the vote and is there anything anglers can do to increase the chances of it passing, such as reaching out to a local government rep?

Do we have a sponsored assembly bill to be presented? If so, please post the AB number so we can let our local Rep. know how to vote when it is to be presented before the assembly. If not sponsored please let us know so we can write our assemblyman to get it sponsored.

What happens if a bass dies in a tournament? Can you keep it or just throw it back in the lake? Lowering the bag limit is a good idea and not having a closed season would be good. I don’t think a strict catch and release will do anything. Do you guys actually think every fish caught in tournament lives. I bet close to 10% die after tournaments especially summer tournaments on lakes like Geneva
