Dang that sucks. Looks like it bent below their stamped ribs. Just too thin of metal 1/8” steel is not strong enough there. That area should be 3/16” minimum.

It's absolutely comical once you remove the coating, because the coating has to be about the same thickness as the metal. Once the coating is gone, it's like "Really? That was supposed to work?"

The pics i posted of my cousins are on his 2014 so pre JM days. That was back when the genius’ of the boating world themselves were making them so cant blame him for the early ones. Nice try tho lol. As far as the new ones yes ez loader makes them but its to manufacturers specs which is why they all vary. Obviously WRMG should be making some changes here. The winch stands on ghe RT boat trailers are not their strong suit thats for sure.

I received my warranty winch stand on Friday, no change in the design. I may take it to a local shop and have it beefed up before I install it.

Well, I have a 17 model 198. The bottom of the winch stand broke almost completely off after about a year of use. I will say that I fish almost every day so that is a bunch of loading and unloading with a occasional power load. Got a local welder to reeled and install gussets to improve strength and impact resistance. It’s been over a year and no more problems. The metal at the bow roller is holding up fine.

Mine was cracked by the roller just like yours. My stand also cracked at the base where it bolted onto the trailer. This was last spring when I had to get it fixed. I cleaned off the coating and a buddy welded extra material covering the cracks. It works great and looks fine.

Yep, plate it and it'll be better than new.

Yes . I fixed mine and it was able to handle getting hit by a car on the interstate. It is a very bad design and I feel that the metal could be a better quality.

Looked at a Ranger trailer for one of their aluminum boat models. Ranger used to have the best built trailer on the market. What I seen was a flimsy engineered trailer that was welded by someone with very little welding skills. If I was in the market for a new boat I would look elsewhere.

The tin boat trailer models have had a lackluster trailer since they debut in 2013. My cousins 2014 seen me several times for repairs until we finally basiclally rebuilt the entire winch stand. The engineers at vexus now designed this trailer initially back then. It always amazed me how light duty they seemed. On the same token the tracker marine trailers lightened up alot over the years as well compared to the 2008 that we had. That was a very nice trailer not a single issue or failure with it.

I had to replace the winch stand on mine a few months ago, and the other day I was at Cumberland and noticed when I walked up to get the truck that the trailer bunks were both loose. Got to looking and the bolts that hold the bracket on to the bunks were missing on one side and the other side was about come off also. Better check these guys, they were loose all the way around the trailer. The one that was missing I am convinced was never even installed...
