Who turns off their hydrowave and why?

I just got a good deal on a hydrowave and decided to pull the trigger. I read a couple articles and saw some video's about folks that weren't catching anything, then they turn on the hydrowave, and the fish come to life. It got me thinking, why wouldn't it be on 24/7 when you're fishing?

For those suckers like me who will buy anything KVD puts his initials on, when do you turn it on or is it always on when you're on the water?

Its not just about the noise the Hydrowave is creating - its the change from sound to no sound and vice versa - that is what triggers the fish to react.

not sure if i believe a hydrowave inspires fish to feed, what i do believe is that it helps mask the sound of the boat and angler . .
Just my own personal opinion :-)

So I'll bite on this one. Just as you I was skeptical to if it really works. Imo if KVD could somehow can a fart smell and call it fish scent bomb at least 10% of anglers would buy it. But with the hydrowave it does seem to stir fish up at the least. Is it going to turn them into JAWS, probably not but from what I have seen with mine it will at least pull them off the bottom a little bit. I don't really know if there is a real time when or when not to use it.
On a side note I went over a giant pod of crappie the other day and turned it on to experiment and those puppies went bat shit crazy when I turned it on....

I sometimes see a difference. Especially if it’s a big bite. I think it’s good at triggering the big fish in a school. I always run atleast a 15 second delay and usually keep it around 1/3 on volume to half at most.

I use mine whenever fishing moving baits but turn it off if I'm fishing the bottom. I regularly see fish come up from the bottom when I turn it on and in the right conditions do catch more fish.
