2017 Suzuki DF 250SS Prop nut torque

I haven't messed with anything regarding my prop on my new to me motor.
I have a plastic prop nut wrench handy when the time comes. But I'm sure I'll remove the prop sometime soon to check for fishing line like you're supposed to. I was just reading another forum where conversation regarding nut torque tightening numbers when putting prop back on. They were talking about buying digital torque wrenches etc.
What is recommended for Suzuki. BassCat said they recommend just tightening it by hand with torque wrench very tight. But I don't think they were speaking specifically for Suzuki. So what is the scoop? Please and thank you

If I remember correctly in the owners manual, I think it's 40 to 50 ft lbs of torque.

Excuse my ignorance but what is 40-50 ft lbs comparable to? Is that about what I'd get if I tightened with my prop wrench tight as I can turn? Or does that kind of weight require a torque wrench of some type? Thanks

I would use a torque wrench. I would find out what the torque value is supposed to be either through a dealer or a manual. You can buy torque wrenches at auto parts stores.

Just make sure to find out what the torque should be first. That way you get the right wrench. I bought one for inch pounds and one for foot pounds. They have them in 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 inch drives.

Rechecked my owners manual and torque specs for the prop are 36 to 45 lb-ft.
