Which rod for keitech swim baits?

Been getting into throwing keitech fat swing impact in 3.8 and 4.5. I would like to get a rod for them. Nothing longer then 7' and I have a budget of $250. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Under 7' and in that price range I would look around for a used Orochi XX 6' 10" Spinnerbait Special. Unfortunately Megabass isn't making that rod anymore with the refresh of the Orochi XX lineup and I wish I bought a second one when I had the chance. If I can't find a good used one, I'll probably go with the Megabass Levante 6' 10" Spinnerbait Special - same rod but subjectively a little less aesthetically refined than the XX rods.

The FMS is a great lighter treble moving bait rod, but I do not recommend this rod for single hook applications.

I personally don’t care for a glass rod for single hook applications. I think the Spinnerbait Special, or the Flat Side Special would better fit your needs.

I've used my FSS for swimbaits on a swimjig head with an exposed hook and it was OK but when using a belly weighted hook where the hook is lying on the back of the swimbait I found the FSS was too moderate to really get the hook in them good.

Well the spinnerbait special sold out fast. What do you think about the Megabass F5-610K Chimaera Orochi XXX for small swim baits? Thanks!

It's a great choice and as similar to the SBS as you'll find. We will be getting a nice re-stock of the XXX rods pretty soon including Chimaera. You might want to go ahead and order one so you don't miss out again Thank you!

I use #20 Daiwa j braid with a #10 mono leader. Most of the time I use a 1/4 ball jig head with 3/0 hook. Sometimes I texas rig them with ewg 3/0 hook.

I have been throwing on Daiwa Tatula elite 6'9. Doubles as good dock skipping rod too.

I use an ALX Deputy. Absolutely killer for this technique. It is a great all purpose rod also.

I picked up the Megabass F5-610K Chimaera from the tackle trap. It is one sweet rod. Going to work perfectly. Thanks everyone!
