Analog Tach bounces around - Smartcraft Tach holding steady - 03 225 Opti

Smartcraft tach seems to working normal, but the analog tach bounces around like crazy (up and down). Any ideas why the analog tach doesn't hold steady and match the rpms on the Smartcraft tach?

There is normally a dial on the back in order to change motors but still use the same tach. That dial can get corroded and give funky tach readings, Pull the gauge out, NOTE ITS CURRENT SETTING then move it around/clean the contact points. Put it back in the original place then give it a test run.
