    Yamaha pro v 150 knocking

I have a 1989 yamaha pro v 150 that until a couple trips ago started to rattle like a wrist pin noise. Had the engine rebuilt and still having the same noise. It seems to be knocking in gear and not in neutral. Carbs have been rebuilt 3 months ago. engine runs great except for the knocking. Any ideas?

If only knocking in gear, it could be a lower unit problem.

If you give it a small amount of throttle does it go away or does it knock through the whole RPM range?

It does knock at lower rpm butseems to get better at high rpm . I think it's just turning faster and is less noticeable

I had a 2014 Suzuki DF90 4 stroke that would make a knocking sound in gear below 1200 rpms. Turned out to be the prop/lower unit. Would go away once I reached 1200 rpms. Prop had the pressed in hub. Some of the newer hubs address the problem and do not knock.
