    Moving to Texas

Me and the wife are looking into moving from Utah to Texas next year, I have never been to Texas so any special locations/areas that are close to local lakes?

Right now here in Utah I have 3-4 lakes that are within a 20 minutes to 1 hour drive away, I would like the same if possible.

My wife would need to relocate here job in either Austin or Dallas.

    Thanks for any info.

Just remember when we measure "close", it's usually anything within two hours.

Go to Round Rock. Contact Temple on here. If not central Texas head to Carthage in east Texas.

If one wife is an issue why not stop and look around in Arkansas ? sisters and cousins are welcome.

Seriously though methinks somewhere east of Dallas would be my choice as opposed to Austin.

If you’re a big time liberal then you’ll love to be in Austin. (Don’t give me “no politics” crap, this is truth)

Really? Seriously, stay away - we don't need the competition!

That's pretty much all the metro areas in the state, but Austin is probably the most liberal.

Anywhere in NE Texas is awesome. Lots of good lakes to fish and tons of nice country folks that make good neighbors. Still close enough to Dallas if you get a hankerin to take in some city life. Just dont go south of Waco because it will lose that "Texas" feel real quick.

One of my best customers is based in Salt Lake City (formerly Questar Pipeline) love that area. Welcome! If I had a choice between the two it would be outside of east Dallas for anything fishing related.

I dont need anyone moving in on my territory. I've got all my sisters and cousins set up on a rotation and dont need any competition for their affection.

    True. Dallas is gaining ground.

I may get shot for saying this, but Dallas is very congested and traffic is a nightmare. East of Dallas is pretty nice. Austin is a traffic nightmare in my opinion too. I am moving to Belton, Texas right next to Temple, Texas. There are two good lakes close, Lake Belton and Lake Stillhouse. The fishing is good, but maybe not nearly as good as Fork. People are very nice, costs are lower, and I love the mid size city feel. I have been all over Texas, and you probably can not go to wrong where ever you go. Message me if you want to talk about it or if I may assist you in any way.
