    Mercury Racing 4 Strokes

Hard to believe no one in the Allison forum is talking about the soon to be released v-8 racing 4 strokes and the demise of the racing 2 strokes this May. Mercury executives said since Tim Powell cannot break 100 mph in an Allison BasSport, it's time to pull the plug and release their new v-8 racing engines.

There seems to be some other big news that is going to break. I don't all the details but I know enough to be dangerous so I'll wait a few days to see how reliable my inside source is. LOL

That would be awesome if true. Not that I would buy one but, would love to see cutting edge outboard tech come out from Mercury.

Would love to see them build a 4 banger with the same power to weight ratio as my 300XS.

After owning a couple four strokes (yamaha and suzuki) on saltwater boats I'm excited to see what rolls out of Merc racing.

Not at all the way I heard it. Two strokes are done they may meet emission standards now but it won’t be long and they won’t pass.

Mercury Racing states that the Sport XS engines, 250 and 300, will still be produced until July 2nd.
The only ones that show they're in stock right now are the 300 Torque Master versions. All others show an availability date of January 2019?????
