    Steering Shaft seized up. 85 Yamaha 70 to 2 stroke

    what's the best way to unsieze this shaft? Thank you

    sure it inst the cable that runs from the wheel? if the cable is the culprit, i have heard people hanging them from the garage letting oil work its way down, but doesn't always work as well as it is only a couple hundred to replace

    It's not recommended to lube your cables (since any rust that may be binding them could ultimately lead to cable failure, so better to replace them).

    But... here's an article on using a tank sprayer to pressure lubricate the cables from the engine side.

    Need to disassemble. Usually that arm rusts inside the tube. Replace whole thing. Should be around $100. Lining the tube back up is tricky but doable.
