Another happy VT18 owner here with my gear stowed the same as MattVT18.
RT188 was significantly more expensive when I was shopping, but even if they were the same price I think I would have picked the VT18. The RT188 cockpit felt very strange with the throttle hitting my leg when wide open. I also like the bow storage layout on the VT better.

I have a Triton 18TX and I've been happy with it. In late 2015 when I was shopping I was mainly looking at Ranger, Triton and Crestliner. I had pretty much decided on the Crestliner and told the salesman it was a done deal pending a ride in his demo boat. He kept putting it off and and I kept shopping. In the end I bought the Triton when the dealer cut the price on his.
If if it wasn't for the poor service from the salesman I would have been happy with the Crestliner. It was a really nice boat.
By the way... That salesman was terminated a few months later.
