With outboard manufacturers engine warranties based on years and not hours their product doesn't really get much use before the warranty is up, especially for us northern guys. Evinrudes 10 yr. warranty promo was a step in the right direction.
2002 225 optimax has about 400 hours.

Ran into the lake master charting guys at Lake Eufaula in okla last weekend,they had 6 or 7 tin boats with f series Yamaha’s and had 7,000 hrs each on average with no problems.
2017 Merc 115 Pro XS 4S with 53 hours.

2002 Optimax 175 hp 230 hours.....small lakes and not used enough
2016 Mercury ProXS 120 running hours. It has never been in the shop except for the compressor reed plate swap and I do all the annual maintenance.
