Is that the Stainless Steel version?
Those aren't the Stainless version. I know because I bought a set yesterday.
To the OP:
I bought two additional items to use with the BoatBuckles - A mounting kit so that I could utilize my existing tie-down points (rather than drill the trailer) and a set of BoatBuckle Pads (so the straps don't rub the hull).
Got both from Amazon.
Those should last a few years. Then replace them with the Stainless Version.
If they do not retract all the way, push the release handle in and it should pull the strap in further.
