    New gears for PX68L

Are there 5.8 ratio gears available that are interchangeable in my Pixy 68L (lefty)?

The original Pixy and Alphas came in 5.8:1, but those gear sets are hard to find new. If you need a set, I have a good used set I will let go of.

Do you know that they will work in the PX68L (remembering mine's a lefty)? If so, PM me with a price you would want for a set.

Yes they will work in your PX68L

They are from a LH Alphas Type R

Received the pinion and main gear this morning... thanks. I didn't imagine the main gear would be plastic...

It’s not plastic. It’s a coated duralumin Gear.

I didn't have time to look at them very closely this morning, but obviously they are well "coated"...

    Alphas R-Edition

The Alphas R-Edition is the racing tuned version of the Alphas released in 2009. It features two more bearings like the Type-F and all bearings are not CRBB. The reel features a swept 80mm carbon handle and RCS cork knobs. The spool has more porting than stock. The main gear was changed to aluminum to drop the reel weight to 6oz even.

I think the Alpha Type R spool is the best of the Alpha spools.

I agree it’s a dang good one, but the Alphas Ito spool is just incredible.
