Rebuilding a maxxum 80 lower unit.

So what kind of grease do you use on the bearing in the nose of the TM? I have a 4" diameter model so the brush plate is in the rear. Also, any little tips that I need to know or watch out for? Looks pretty straight forward. I am replacing the brushes, seals and armature.

A small amount on lithium grease on the thrust spacer behind the bearing in the nose cone is all you need. A Small amount of greases on the shaft on the brush end will help too. Bearing is seal and pretty solid. I have only change a hand full in 9 years.

The only time I see them go bad is when they have water intrusion.
