Lake Galena info.

Me and the wife are talking about going to galena and was wondering if anyone has fished it any info would be appreciated.

I can't help with any lake information but I hope you can find somewhere to fish while your there. My wife drug me there one time and it was a horrific experience for this particular redneck. It's nothing but antiques, shopping, golf and other misc. nonsense.

Great lake, I remember it was the first lake that I was ever able to find a pattern on. Before my parents bought a house in WI we would rent a place out there for a few days in the summer. I was about 12 and read an article in in-fisherman about finding rockpiles and smallmouth, did exactly what the article said and caught about 15 smallmouth off a rockpile. Head a little east to the Apple river and it is some of the best creek smallmouth fishing you can find. Being a fly fisherman I have dreampt of opening a fly shop in Galena, all of the guys being dragged around by there wives into antique shops it would be a great spot for guys to escape.

You have to rent a boat. That was another reason we didn't go.
