    Soft spot triton 20trx

Was wondering if this was just my boat or not. I would have to assume it's just my boat. 17 20TRX passenger side area. I am pointing to the area in question. I can literally push on the area I'm pointing to and see the fiberglass move. Basically it's probably a 2 inch by 6 inch area I can push on and see and feel it move.

Also any idea how this would be fixed?

I just went out and touched mine in the same spot, and it's also "soft".. sort of.. I can move that fiberglass and it crunches, but only a little.

I checked mine and its flimsy there too. I wouldn't sweat it. I'm sure they make those little storage areas thinner than load bearing areas.

Just checked mine and don’t feel soft at all. I guess if ur gonna have a soft spot that’d be the best place to have one.

Well I feel a little better then (maybe). Yeah it is a bit flimsy feeling and it does crunch a little. Still doesn't seem right but maybe they make them that way

Don’t think that should be soft. What’s going to happen to it as the boat ages. I would take it to the dealer and start a conversation.

I agree with Smallmouthguy. I checked mine and there is no soft spot but if there was it would have been at the dealer in the morning

Probably an air void. It may never break out in that area, but I wouldn't bet on it.

If you press your thumb against it you can feel it better than with your finger. If anyone who has this issue talks to their dealer let us know what they say. I will try to get up with my dealer this week

I checked my 2015. To me it feels just fine. Not soft, no crunching sound. I even stepped on it and it felt solid. So Idk..

Checked my boat, it's as solid as the rest of the boat.

$50 says the dealer and Triton claim it's normal.

can you pull the cup holder out and put expanding spray foam in there?
It would support the area after it dried

Be careful. If it expands too much it could crack.

It's a 2017. Don't go "redneckin" it with some foam. Let the dealer and manufacturer deal with it. At least get it documented.

Taking it to the dealer tomorrow. Would this fall under the hull warranty? Boat is 1.5 years old. I hope it's covered under warranty as it should be.

Yes, it's part of the hull.

Dealer says it's an air bubble underneath and are going to fix it. Might be worth everyone checking theirs as it seems a few have had this issue
