What compressor are you using with your airbrush?

My Hobby Lobby special crapped out after 5 years and need a new one. Saw a ton on Amazon for cheap I might grab up.

I went overboard and bought a California Air tools 1HP 5.5 gallon compressor.

I second the Cal Air. Super quiet, you can talk on the phone in the same room while it's running. Holds great pressure and real fast cycle times. Been thru two other ones, including the headache inducing Harbor Freight $39.00 pancake comp. Glad I sprung for the Cal, I'll never go back.

I bought one of the 1/5hp compressors on Amazon a couple of years ago and she's still working.

we have a guy that comes into the store and buys CO2 - he is airbrushing duck decoys. looks like a 20lb cylinder lasts him about a month or so.

I use the Cal Air in my shop, great compressor but it is louder and way bigger than the one i use for airbrushing. I use one of the 1/5hp Amazon specials, works for me. It is basically always running while spraying, but the regulator does a good enough job smoothing out the pressure that I don't have any issues.

1/5hp from Harbor freight, it works like a champ!!! You have to make sure you get the one with adjustable air pressure.

4710sq California is about all you need for most garage applications. Quiet and $119. Forget any pancake type as they will drive you crazy with the noise
