    Project Activator

I know it is not a bass boat, but we are restoring a 1990 22' Activator and many of the things we will do and discuss are related to any performance boat. This is a full deck off restoration. Subscribe on YouTube and follow along if you can.

Here is the introduction, 3 episodes are done, working on 4 & 5.

Episode 2 we talked about engines, including the new Mercury four stroke V6, and the differences between the 2.7L G2 and 3.4 G2. One advantage of the 2.7 is you can get the regular bracket, reducing the weight substantially as the Evinrude DPS weighs about 35 Lbs.

We have the article for episode 16 up.

    Article: https://www.wavetowave.com/home/2019...ing-and-update

Getting the Evinrude G2 250 HO ready..

We are going with a 6" Hyraulic plate from SeaStar. It's their Gen 2 plate. The G2 has about 6" of additional setback because of the steering system built in to the swivel bracket.

The 250 HO model we have weighs 537 Lbs, with steering, so without the steering it's actually about 500 Lbs. That's one of the lighter 250 HPs on the market when you crunch the numbers in real world weight.
