    vessel view?

    good morning,

    can vessel view be hook up to lowrance units? if so,which one's? do ww need NEMA 2000 hook ups?

    I'm running the Vessel View Link, it runs on the NMEA backbone. I can put all my data right on the screen with the data overlays, so I don't run a separate engine data page. I run it all on the chart page so I know what's going on warming up and running down the lake.

    Yes, Vessel View Link will display on Lowrance units. The VV box translates engine data to transmit over NMEA2000 so, yes, you will need NMEA2000. I know HDS units will. The early Elite units will not. I have no idea whether later Elite units or Hook units will accept engine data. More than likely if a unit has a NMEA2000 port on the back and has “over lay” capability then it should work.
