I just picked up a couple of these reels and i keep hearing they are good for finesse baits and lighter applications. How do they handle the heavier stuff like pitching heavy jigs or even punching 1.5 oz weights?

I think they are good for every application except BFS-light and ones where you want a bigger spool. I've pitched and dragged 3/4 and 1 oz jigs with them and no issues for me.

They handle the heavier stuff just fine too. I have flipped, pitched and punched with mine since day one. You will have no issues at all.
Agree with the above. The only thing I don't think they're good for is making long casts due to the shallow spool (so things like frogging big mats, moderate to deep cranking, etc). I'd suggest looking to the CT Type R for those type of things if you find yourself liking the SV TWS and want to expand your arsenal.
