    Clamp-on oarlocks

I've been searching for 6 months for a way to attach oarlocks on my 16' deep-v. It has wide gunnels 2" by 1" deep, with thin aluminum for the hull.

I got caught drifting into a large rock shoal too shallow to use the TM or outboard, and the wind was too strong to use a push-pole from the stern (kept turning me sideways).

Any links would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Post a pic of your boat and gunwales - might help to come up with a solution for you.

Don't know if clamp-on is an option, but there are both side mount and top mount ones, like shown below. The top mount ones would be very unobtrusive. Perhaps the side-mount style could be mounted with thumb-screws vs. permanent rivets or screws? That would allow them to be removed if you don't want them on all the time - yet make them easy to install in a couple minutes if needed.

I did find several clamp-on mounts, mainly for rod holders. But I'm sure you could adapt them with a oar lock bushing somehow.
