1985 Johnson GT150
The red multi-pin connector inside the engine.
I had it disconnected - I did not unhook the battery. I did not cover male end of the multi with a rubber glove, and of course, while working, I shorted one of the pins to the engine block with a screw driver... because I am an idiot.
Now - nothing from the remote control box works - gauges don't come on, trim doesn't work, key, choke, nothing.
All other accessories still connected to the starting battery still work (bilge, running lights, aerator pumps).
What did I kill? Voltage regulator? Something inside the remote control box? The very core of the universe?
-thanks in advance-
** edit: What makes me think voltage regulator is because it was the ENGINE side of the plug that was male. The battery/boat side of the plug was female and did not get shorted. so-- does the voltage regulator act like a large capacitor - thus the stored up charge that shorted?
