Talons not holding

I have a set of the original Talons and they aren’t holding like they did when new. Anyone else had this problem or have any suggestions?

Have you cleaned and lubricated the spike assembly. I tilt mine forward and clean and lube every few months. Other than that , you may want to contact John Jones at Jones trolling motors , he may know how to address your issue.

is the spike super blunt? has your bottom composition changed, more info required

I did that for the first time since I’ve had it the other day. I can’t tell for sure if it has helped yet. I do let the down and idle pretty frequently.

they are pretty blunt but most places I fished are muddy bottoms and they’ll drive 6-8” more after the first initial contact.
