    Minn Kota Fortrex Faded - Any suggestions

    any suggestions to revive the faded base on my Fortrex?

    I have the same issue with my PowerDrive. I was debating trying the as seen on tv “Wipe New” product. For $15 it might be worth a shot, but than I think if I really care that much either.

    Maybe back to black. I think Mothers makes it.

    Otherwise just buy a new base.

    Used it on the garage door trim looks new for a month or so then it fades again..

    Is it black plastic ? Try using a heat blower or hair dryer on a small area. You might be surprised.

    Man ive always heard that and had many say it works. Every time I try I end up melting crap lol.

    I tried it about 3 months ago on a small area between my truck hood and the windshield. Still looks like new. Will probably do the entire piece. Slow and careful are the key here.

    303 will last a little bit. I might try the hair dryer trick on some of my truck trim

    Tape it off and spray paint it with Rusteoleum plastic paint and it will look great again .

    Mask it off securely get some SIM vinyl and plastic paint thats the stuff I use on my muscle car interiors to restore them its GREAT naturally its not cheap but it will no fade and you will not get better results. I like gloss black but satin is nice its like 14$ can Trust me you will not be disappointed

    This is what I used to paint My Power-Pole™ spike. The plastic protects it and provides a crisp red color and no more fiberglass shards.
