Can a guy bring the boat/motor in to find the amount of hours on motor? A local mechanic told me the motor must be EFI to get hours from it? I'm going to sell and want to tell potential buyers the amount of hours on motor (if possible). Thanks guys.

No. A compression check has more informational value on an older Johnson carb motor than accumulated hours.
