    Trailer wheels-cleaning?

I have built up axle grease and brake dust on my factory Champion wheels. What's the best way to make them look new to remove the grease on the inside of the rim and black streaks on the outside? If you have before and after pics please share with your solution.

When I pulled mine to replace the tires and maintenance the hubs, I sprayed them down with WD40 and let them sit for about 15 min. Shop ragged them and sprayed D 40 as needed. Cleaned up nice.

Thanks for the help guys. I saw on Youtube where some people used oven cleaner on aluminum wheels to clean them. It looks like it works great, but I am worried about the clear coat finish and how it affects it. Anyone try oven cleaner or the aluminum cleaner from the automotive stores?

Anything that may contain a caustic cleaner like sodium hydroxide (oven cleaner), will chemically corrode aluminum.

Just get a few used microfiber towels and wipe them down. If the clear is still there, they'll look good. The towels will be trash afterwards.
