    Carb part

    J150GLEDB
    G0141990

    150 Johnson Fadtrike. 1996

looking over my motor, and noticed this missing

I think I found it as
    Orifice plug #30
    0317473

So what does it do, and how do I know it's screwed in the right depth? other carbs seem to have different depths.

Can you ID it from the parts diagram? Looks like part ID #9 but there are three sizes available.

That is your intermediate air orifice, refer to the parts manual for the correct size, it is determined by your model number. They should be installed tight. The hidden idle adjustment jet is just under this orifice.

Part chart shows it to be a #38 orifice if you look closely at the orifice there will be a number stamped on the outside end of it.

Thank you all for responding........ It was the top right carb, and a wire was covering it..... I saw the hole below and thought is was gone...... if you look at the picture you will see to hole just below, yes I freaked out, did not do my diligence. that wire hid it perfectly. My apologies!!!!!

No problems, wire goes to the trim relay bracket.
