    Lower unit oil change

New to mercury, I changed oil last night, just checking if I did it right.
    06 merc optimax 250

removed plug behind prop, and removed plug from upper left side, both flat head screws. Gave it about thirty minutes seemed like it was drained. I left the motor trimmed down and pumped it in from bottom until a steady stream came out of upper. Someone told me to trim it up when pumping in and others said to do it like my SHO was. Haven’t taken it out so if there’s something I missed please let me know. Seems like most of you guys have forgotten more about mercs than I know, thanks in advance.

. I agree I use a paint (rattle)can lid have it fill it up 1/2 way. This will save the life of seals.

Yup, Trim all the way down to take oil out, then motor needs to be level and ones it starts coming out the top, put plug back in the top, remove pump, let 1-2oz out and then put the plug back in. Done :)
