From what I can tell from looking at previous models, after 2012 the FX-21 got substantially heavier (1860lbs vs 2175lbs). Where did this weight go or is it a much different hull?

Dry hull vs estimated standard boat weight.
I thought this same thing till I was looking at the performance bulletins which makes me believe it is a heavier boat. See below.
2009 FX21
Dry weight - 1860lbs
Weight tested - 3250lbs
top speed - 75.4
Test weight includes 1/2 tank of fuel, four batteries, bow-mounted trolling motor, battery charger, jack plate, safety and test equipment.
2016 FX21
Dry weight - 2185
Weight tested - 3753lbs
top speed - 70.3
Test weight includes 48 gallons of fuel, 4 batteries, bow-mounted trolling motor, battery charger, dual 8-foot Power-Poles, 12" manual jack plate, safety and test gear.
I wonder what my 09 21i class was
So a few take aways form this comparison:
- FX21LE has PPs and roughly 20 more gal of gas.
- Weather for the FX21 was more favorable.
- They both are not running the same prop. There are tad differences in the VMAX and VMAX SHO prop. VMAX is a faster prop.
- It has also been stated by a Dealer on this site that the FX hull got tweaked each year.
- Also no boat and motor combo will perform the same. There is always a slow guy and a fast guy.
Look at the the speeds for ZX20/ZX21/20i/21i. In 2012 they were listed as dry. Then listed as standard. Speeds did not change.. You don't add 200-300lbs without speed loss, unless you change the hull.
I really like my iclass
poles and fuel cuts the weight difference to less than half.. carpet padding, and other options not available in 09 lets say 25 pounds. so the dif is like 200 pounds. 200 pounds is like 2-3 mph top end .. then boats are set up different or the hull change slowed it down..
Live life, its the only one you get!
You don't scare me.
Spoke with Skeeter this morning and the weights published on the website are dry hull weights.
