    plaster mold

    want to make another open pour would you use plaster of Paris and the elmers glue trick or buy the stuff from hobby lobby have never used it, by the way whats it called?

    It's called RTV and turns out some great molds (I have several that I made with it over the years). POP works fine and is really cheap. The next step up in inexpensive mold material is Durhams water putty. It's a lot stronger IMO than POP.

    I just used it to make a 2 piece jig mold. Works pretty good, it just sets up super fast so you only have about a minute to make your impression. It's not going to last long pouring lead but it'd be fine for plastics I'll bet. Look for a 30% or 40% coupon to Hobby Lobby and you'll end up paying like $20.
