    Evinrude ETEC 225 HO props?

I have purchased a 2016 ETEC 225 HO model # E225HGLABG. I will be putting it on the back of a 2000 Triton TR21 with a 6 inch manual jackplate. I have a couple Renegade 13.5 x 25 props that I used with my 2000 Evinrude 225 FICHT. Will these props work with the 225 HO? If no, what should I looking for? Thanks.

I am hoping someone can help me and at least give me an idea, if the Renegade 13.5 x 25 prop will work with this motor and boat. Thank you.

Try posting in the Evinrude forum. I think there is a potential problem with the older style props on the newer E-Tecs in that the exhaust temperatures are too hot and can destroy the older style hub.

Check the gear ratio on both LU's. The new one might have a different gear ratio which means you will need a different pitch prop.

The E-TEC exhaust will melt the pressed in hub, tried the exact same prop on a BassCat with a 250 E-TEC. Struggled to get out of the hole and melted the hub.
It was the older 25 X 13.5 4B Renegade that I used on a '97 150 FastStrike. It was a rocket out of the hole with the 150....

So, the ETEC 225 HO is on my boat and they had a chance to run it with the Renegade 4 -25" prop. It took forever to get out of the hole and it would only get to 5200 rpm's. Any suggestions for a prop that will give me a good holeshot and get me to the desired RPM range? Thank you.

What lower unit is on your etec? I am running the same basic set up and running a 28 bravo with a great hole shot even loaded.

I believe it is the 1:86 gearcase.

The trophy is a little faster but holeshot is slower but no bad 5800 rpm at 73 and fury has better holeshot but not as fast 71ish. Fixing to fury on for the summer after this weekend may send it off and have it worked.

80 would be a huge step up... I'd be very happy with 70

I picked up the boat today and took it out for a spin. The holeshot was poor, but not that worse than it was last year with the 225 FICHT. I was able to get the boat to 60.3 MPH on GPS, and was at 5400 RPM's. I measured the prop to pad gap and it is at 5" below. Which seems like a lot. I think most guys are running theirs between 2.5" and 3"....correct? Again, I have a manual Hi-Jacker 6" jackplate. What should I raise it to? Thoughts?

Another question for you. When I got the boat in the water, I stepped on the hotfoot to rev the engine and it wouldn't do it. Is there a stop with the computer program to keep someone from doing that?

The Etec will only go to a certain RPM when in neutral.
5" below pad is to deep.
Yes, a good starting point is the 2.5"-3" range.
