    How to change exhaust tuner

What all is involved in changing the exhaust tuner on a 2004 Mercury 150 EFI (OT817589)?

$$ unless you have the knowledge to know how to do it yourself. Be sure you get both gaskets also replace and ck the water screen.

The very first thing you need is a Factory Repair Manual, followed by a 904551 lifting eye.

Then go through and order all of the gaskets, seals, clamps, and appropriate hardware (tuner securing "studs and nylock nuts" do NOT work well). Not sure who the rocket scientist was that thought nylock nuts in the exhaust stream was a "good" idea....

Be careful here. Fasteners can be frozen and it's pretty easy to break one off.
