Heading to Watts Bar for the first time around April 22nd. Staying near Thief Neck Island. Any info on water temp/clarity or bait stores nearby? Also, you guys recommend any local lures that you guys use? Already know of pre spawn patterns I'm going to try, but any info would be appreciated. Thanks
I will be there the 21-23. Fish the lake once a year about the same time so take this for what it's worth. We pretty much fish the banks, and 45 degree banks leading in and out of spawning pockets are best. If they have cover (laydowns, docks, etc) then that's a bonus. I fish spinnerbaits, jigs, traps, jerks, etc. and can catch some dandies. Overall tho my dad will have the most bites dragging a trickworm on a 1/4 ounce shakeyhead behind the boat.
