Sunset marina? I'm going with a new neighbor. Neither of us have ever been on the lake.

Those Dale Hollow LM are hard to catch when they are bedding. They are for me at least. I know a lot of people that don't even mess with them. I suspect that the water clarity has a lot to do with it. It might be different up one of two rivers though.

Stayed at Sunset last weekend for 4 days. LM are killing a floating worm right now. Caught around 25 a day. Most around 2-3 lbs. Had a great time

I wish I had read the floating worm suggestion this morning. Two guys, 4 hours (mid day), ONE bass. Our worms must have been stinker sinkers. We fished coves most of the time.

Neither of us has ever been there before. We were disappointed.

Sounds like Operator Error!! Ha Ha

I've spent the better part of the last 40 years learning (somewhat successfully) how to fish saltwater flats in Texas. Add in some mud-based; weed-filled Southern Wisconsin lakes, and some fertile Texas reservoirs, and I was doing OK.

However, learning River-fed; dam-controlled TVA lakes shows that I do have a ton to learn about now.

Current is important on TVA lakes, but I don't think its as important on Dale Hollow, as it is on a TN river lake. Best advice, I can give for DH is keep the boat in 30-40'.

You guys that go back down in the fall or winter to fish when do the SM normally shallow up again to feed? Thinking about trying another trip down later this year. One guy I know always goes down around Thanksgiving.
