    Solix 12 2d chirp?

Newly installed solix 12, can’t get it into the 2d chirp mode. The only frequency options that I have are medium, high frequency, and med/high... is there anyone out there that can help me get my unit into chirp mode?!

    That is the CHIRP ranges.
    Medium is 75-95 kHz.
    High is 175-225 kHz
    Med/High is 75-95/175-225

I seen a post on Instagram from Brent Ehrler. He was marking a school of fish and at the top of his screen it said full chirp

No unit comes with that transducer, it's a new accessory.

Full CHIRP is using the Dual Spectrum DI transducer that has:
    Full-----140-240 kHz
    Narrow--180-240 kHz
    Wide---150-220 kHz

The transom model is XM 14 20 MDI T
The trolling motor puck is XTM 14 20 MDI T

Can I upgrade to that transducer and get the same settings that he’s getting?

    Yes.
You loose SI with a SI model and add DI with the CHIRP model.

    I have the transom version.

Oh okay! He probably has a dual mount at his trolling motor and is getting the chirp frequency. I just can’t seem to get good archs and true chirp readings from my solix 12 at the console in 2d mode. I’m marking fish, but they aren’t showing up the way they do with chirp.

If you use 83 kHz or Med CHIRP you will get fish arches if you know anything about how sonar produces fish arches.
The Dual Spectrum DI transducer has less coverage than Med CHIRP so the arches will be shorter.

Notice any difference in fish arches between High CHIRP and Med CHIRP?

The LowQ 2D crystal in the MEGA DI transducer gives better target separation.

Thanks for all the info Wayne, I will have to get out there and mess with the solix 12 a little more. It’s a great unit, only used it twice!
