Tn Team Trail on Ft. Loudon....good day in the cold

My partner and I had a good day fishing in the rain and cold yesterday in the Tn Team Trail tournament on Ft. Loudon. A 3rd place finish with 21.48 was better than we expected going in considering the weather. Traps, jerkbaits and jigs got it done for us and caught fish most of the day, but one little spurt about mid day really beefed up the bag. Next one on Cherokee and not expecting much since I've been on the lake only once and my partner has never fished it.

Probably won't have time....have a 2 day tournament on Wed & Thur (retired folks ) and a tournament on Watts Bar Sat. The following Sat is the Cherokee tournament. My partner may go Fri and look around.

I stayed on tellico. I had to work the night before so I got to the ramp kinda too late to be able to get in the lock. A bunch of my buddies locked down though.

You didn’t almost lose a rod when netting a fish for your partner did you?

No, I caught our only fish in that area that morning, but it weighed 5 1/2 and was our biggest fish. We fished down from Ladd towards the steam plant. White Triton

The boat that fished the cove with us... the rear guy was fighting a fish and the front went for the net. He sat his rod down and a 5 pounder grabbed it. Thought that might have been y’all. Looked like the rear guy had a 3 on but he landed it opposite of us. We left out that cove and gave it to them and went up in the river. There was a 5 plus trying to bed that we left... don’t know if they caught it or even saw it. We went back later and didn’t see it again.

Up the river was dead for us. Water was chocolate. If you found wood back near Ladds it had fish on it. Most everything we caught was on a jig.
