    Ed Parten

I haven't seen a post about Ed Parten's death here.

Ed Parten was HUGE in environmental & conservation aspects of fishing in texas!
Ed died recently and I feel compelled to carry on in his quest as a director in TBBU.

Ed pushed for the 5 fish limit
Ed pushed for the 14" minimum
Ed pushed for boat lanes on Livingston
Ed pushed and pushed & pushed for black bass conservation!

Ed was a sweat heart of a man, driven to make bass fishing better in Texas!

He will be buried tomorrow Saturday April 7, 2018 and I will not go.
I hate funerals & prefer to remember the man as he stood & fought for what he believed in

Sorry to hear this. I really envy you guys that live in the areas where the fisheries are cherished and supported. Don't take it for granted.

Ed was a client of ours for years and a dear friend. He gave countless hours every year on multiple boards and committees towards our passion of fishing. He was deservedly inducted into a couple different Texas fishing Hall of Fames in recent years. I posted of his passing on TFF last week and it didn't get a lot of attention. Not surprising as he was always working behind the scenes for us and didn't ask for a lot of attention or recognition. Very few know of his true impact over all of these years. Our sport will miss his dedication greatly. RIP big Ed

He will be missed, he was a character for sure, met him as a Kid. He was definitely very involved in advancing our access and quality of our lakes. RIP
