    Stoltz Ultimate Bow Stop Roller

I ordered one of these to replace my black rubber bow roller that leaves the black streaks on my white hull. It seems pretty hard with not much cushion. Has anyone used these? Are they okay or is it better to go back with the rubber to cushion the bow more? I’ve read a couple places where the Stoltz has scratched and rubbed the gel coat on some boats??

Pretty well the standard bow roller any more. My 07 trailer came with one. I put one on my 93 trailer.

I I’d find a softer high quality roller at west marine that did not leave marks on my white 181

Stolz has pretty much been the standard for years.

My bow roller is hard like that and over the years has left some marks. You can but something that they sell to put over your hook that on your boat to prevent it from happening.

I appreciate the replies. I guess I'm just used to the black rubber one and this one seems it would be even harder on the bow. But then again, I've never used one so I have no clue. I'm gonna try it out and see how it works.

When you put the new roller on, don't tighten it to tight. Leave it loose enough so you can roll it with your hand. If to tight it will streak the bow.
