    Question RePower ???

I am researching to determine if I am able of repowering my 2006 TR20X HP with a 250 HP motor.

My hull was built early in the production year and is rated for 225 HP. However, as I understand, later in the 2006 production year they were rated for a 250 HP.

So I would like to have confirmed that the later 2006 TR20X HP models were indeed rated for a 250 HP.

Also, if so would I contact Triton to reissue the Coast Guard Capacities Rating sticker ?

If the later production 2006 20X HP were NOT rated for a 250 HP what would be if any the ramifications of re-powering with a the 250 HP motor ?

Thanks in advance for any feedback and / or thoughts.......

Insurance might be a big problem. Also if you fish any of the major tournaments you could not fish as a boater.

The Tr 20X's were not rated for 250 HP outboards until 2008. That is when they started mounting the gas tank longitudinally in the floor.

I have the same deck and hull (2006 Tr-200) and re-powered in 2012 with a 225 Pro XS with the help of Don Weed at European Marine (he's a Mercury GENIUS!) Have never regretted it! One of the fastest hulls Triton ever made.
