    Open water?

Does anyone know if Jeness Pond or other bodies of water out that way are open yet?

Potanipo in Brookline is wide open as of last Friday, parking lot and launch is clear as well.
Nashua River behind the DOT building is open.
I hear that Powder Mill in Greenfield has been wide open for a couple of weeks now, but the launch itself just became clear, and all of the mud dried out as of last weekend.

I'll be going out toward the Greenfield area on Saturday myself to scout out some more ponds to see what's open and accessible, a lot of these places have the launch on the south side in the trees, so it takes awhile for the snow and ice to melt out. The warm weather and rain tomorrow should start opening up a bunch of places this week.

Not sure but I think most of the water up that way still has ice on it.
We hit Kingston Lake on Sunday. We caught 4 or 5 Largemouth.
All but one on Jigs. Water temp 42

They just pulled bob houses off the water up here. We need to get back to liquid water in a hurry.

Bummer. From what I saw on satellite images, everything but Pleasant in that area still had ice as of last Saturday. Couldn't look any more recent than that, we've had cloud cover over us every day since then when the images are taken.

Hmm, never been to Kingston but if they're biting on a jig I may just go!

Pleasant Pond in Francestown opened up a couple of days ago. Daniels in Weare is about 40% open as of Monday (49 degrees though!)

How is the fishing at Daniels ? I've never been there but always wanted to.

That's great, we have a tournament there in a couple of weeks. Should I bring the boat or a Bob house?

Nothing special, nice kayak water. Fairly developed shoreline. Decent grass, deepest spot is < 8'. If it wasn't for the creek, winterkill would limit it to 'pout.

As of Saturday, Hopkinton Res (Elm Brook/Stumpfield) only had 100 yards ice-free under the bridge. Drove right over Turkey and didn't make a mental note of it's condition:P

Got out to Jeness with Travis today, pond was almost entirely ice free except for some spots in the southern most areas. I got skunked but Travis caught a decent largemouth on a jerkbait.

He said everything he passed on his way down was iced in, so basically everything north of Jeness.

Surprised it wasn't still full of ice.

Saw Travis's post on FB. Thought it was Northwood.

I had to drive by Northwood to get to Jeness with the way I come in, and Northwood is open but drawn down about 4'. Now's a good time to get a battery pack for your depth finder and go walk the shoreline to mark all the logs, boulders, and stumps that are clearly visible.
