    PVS plug help

I recently paired an 05 200 Optimax with a 99 201 Stratos. My prop is a 23 Tempest, my jackplate is a 6 inch Pro Hi Jacker. I haven't been able to test the boat yet, but when I do I'm anticipating that my hole shot might not be great. If I get proper RPMs at WOT, the easiest first step towards addressing a slow hole shot would be to tinker with the PVS plugs, correct? I checked the other day and all three of them have an "L" on them, which I assume stands for large. If I'm not blowing out and feel I could benefit from more venting, can I start testing what happens with no PVS plug at all? Can I take them out 1 at a time? Or do all three need to match, meaning I would pull all 3 of them? Or is this a bad idea altogether?

PS, I don't know why there's a little red angry face on my post. That was an accident. I'm not pissed about anything... yet

Target 3500-4000rpms on holeshot. Hole sizes can be different, But I try and keep them similar.

You will have to figure out what works the best for you individual situation. You can run whatever plug configuration you need. It's possible you may end up removing all of the plugs, you just never know until you experiment. On mine I have one hole open and two holes with large plugs. If your prop is slow to build rpm's I would remove one plug at a time and see what happens.

Test it like it is now then adjust the vent holes to get 3500-4000 on take off. If it's over venting with the large plugs reduce the size and it if needs more venting pull one plug at a time. That's a 3.0 L motor and it's got a lot of power so your 23" prop might be too small.

Ya not near enough prop for that setup, I wouldn't run anything less than a 25pitch on that rig, you could probably turn a 26 pretty good

ELEVATION plays into propping a boat.... Loss of HP happens at height.
