How dangerous is Guntersville to run? I have Navionics chip, but I am just wondering of underwater hazards and just overall dangers. Thanks in advance

There are channels you need to watch and a more than a couple humps and underwater islands that will reach up and get you if you not careful... It's a big lake... If you've got the correct card then you should be fine... Just pay attention to not only the graph but the flats between the channels... Some areas you don't need to go across even though it looks like you can...

G-ville is not bad for Alabama lakes. Navionics works well IMO. It can get shallow real fast in certain areas though.

What end of the lake are you going to be fishing? Southern end is pretty wide open until the grass comes in but from Siebold up, pay attention to the channel markers.
Staying in Guntersville. Never been there, so have no idea where to fish. Just not one to want to tear stuff up. It cost to much to do that.
Just be careful and pay attention to water level too. This is my buddy that was running where the birds were standing and not floating.

That sucks...how long did that take to get back?

Your Navionics card will serve you well. Just use your maps with confidence, stay in the channels and deeper channels and stay away from any shallow humps or ledges. Youll be safe with some common sense. Just dont run through any shallow flats, theres not alot of stumps, but there is some.
Thanks for all the input
The nice thing is that there is not much to hit on the shallow stuff although you might sand your skeg.
