    Help needed

    I'm not good at electronics . I bought a dragonfly for my fishing boat. Suddenly my depth reading is 2x what it should be. Like it should be 20 feet and it reads 40. What am I doing wrong ? ----Also anybody know if Raymarine has teaching vides so I can learn how to use it better (particularly reading the picture) ? thanks for your help

    Are your electric connections tight?

    Was there a quick start guide in the box?

    Sonar
    * Red is hard bottom - rock / clay
    * lighter is softer - mud / muck
    * “Red” arches in the water are fish

    DownVision is a picture view
    * looks like a tree it’s a tree
    * looks like a rock it’s a rock
    * fish are white dots - usually a little brighter
    * bigger dots are bigger fish
    * bunch of tiny dots - bait fish / ball

    Nice video but I notice that the depth is quite shallow. What about at 100 feet? Clear and detailed?

    That all depends on how clean the water is on the transom. Anytime you have turbulence / air bubbles, transducers tend to blow out. I’ve seen transom mounts read 40+ mph and I’ve seen them blow out as soon as you hit the throttle. As long as you can get a clean reading, it will pick up arches.
