Loud bang when Talon retracts

I mounted up two new Bluetooth 8' Talons last night. We have everything synced and updated. Both units deploy and retract smoothly and quietly. However the starboard unit makes a pretty loud pop or banging noise right when the spike fully retracts and the plate moves up that last 1/8". It is slamimg shut. The other on just makes a solid thud. I called Minn Kota and all the lady I spoke with could suggest was taking it to a service center. I was wondering if any of y'all may have an idea of what it is.

Mine kinda bang when they close also but I'm not sure what yours does.... maybe it's normal. Try taking it to a service center if your near one and let them hear it.... just to make sure

mine makes a pretty loud thud or clunk noise just as the last piece enters the housing.

Thanks. I talked with a local ASC today and they said it was most likely normal. I wish it was as quiet as the other unit. I'll keep an eye on it. They worked really well over the weekend.

Mine does the same thing. It got a little quieter after a year of use but still very noticeable.

You must of gotten one normal talon and one assault talon I bet that's the problem

Mine makes a loud thud at end of retract. I think it used to be a little quieter.

Both of my 10 footers make clunk when they hit the final retract point, but nothing overwhelming. Other than that, they make no noise. Had them since 2015. They are the 3 stage, 10 footers. Love them.
