    ranger t/m 4 post plug (male)

    had to get a new male plug foe my ultrex and noticing I left out the small little type bar with 2
    little holes. is it ment for something?

    The four pin plug was for 12/24V trolling motors and the tie bar was the jumper that put the two batteries in series. Be SURE to measure the voltage at the TM plug. i would assume that you installed a 24V Ultrex so I would suggest making a jumper to go between the batteries to series them and just use two wires to the front of the boat; this reduces the voltage drop from having the current travel through the length of 4 wires. I hope that makes sense.

    On my setup I needed add a 60 amp breaker for the 36 volt Ultrex. Therefore, I added a 60 amp Blue Sea breaker/switch. The Ranger style four pin plug was not rated that high. So, I wired the Ultrex directly using a Blue Sea terminal bus (no plug). A bonus--it cleared up the slight fog effect on my Humminbird 360 which I had been trying to clean for some time. The 360 screen is now crystal clear.
