I have that exact boat. I run a 19” ptr3 on a 6” hydraulic jack plate. I got 47mph (gps) before the jack plate, 46 mph with but gained 200rpm. Tried a 21” turbo 1 prop and it was too much for the 115, lost to many rpms. 46-47 mph is fast enough....

I’d like to try the new prd3 prop when it becomes available. It is supposed to be a copy of the yamaha pro.

After trying the 21” prop I am very happy with how the 19” performs. With gear and myself it will hold 6200rpm all day. Add another person and gear and I still run fast enough and sit at about 5600-5700rpm.

With the jack plate I have found that this H18 likes a lot of trim to get on full pad. Keep that in mind when adjusting your jack plate.

A lot of guys really like the Mercury Spitfire X7 with that engine on boats that run around 50mph.

I don't think those boats are Xpress pad hulls.

I read it as h18 bay but it doesn’t say “bay”.

My post above is what I have experienced with my H18 Bay.

Should still be similar. It has the hyperlift hull right?

Yes the H 18 is a pad hull. My post was in response to the post saying Spitfire X7 props were recommended. They give stern lift and pad hulls especially Xpress pad hulls need bow lift to take full advantage of the pad. I am on my second Xpress pad hull and have owned 9 glass pad hull bass boats.

I have the same boat, running a 21p Yamaha pro series prop on a 6 inch jack plate set at 3.5” pad to prop. I get 52-53 mph running 6200 rpm easy, that’s with an added 3rd battery, onboard charger and minn Kota talon. Full load with two guys, drops down to 48 mph. You’ll see a lot of guys recommend the pro series props from Yamaha because they are a bow lifting prop. The 18p powertwch prop that comes factory on these boats aren’t great.

Hmmm. I may have to try this. Im runing 3.75 pad to prop with my 19 pitch power tech PTR3 and alone I can only turn about 5700-5800, add another passenger and I'm Down to about 5600-5700. Max speed alone is about 47, with another person about 44. I do feel like I need a little more lift, maybe that Pro series will help me get that.

edit: Im on Simyamaha and I don't see a pro series prop for a Yamaha 115 four stroke.

I wouldn't think the Pro fits the 115. It's made for V6 engines with the larger crankcase.

Power tech is supposed to be making a pro copy for the D-class outboards. It’s the PRD3. I’m having a hard time getting them to say much about it other than they are currently testing the design.

There are 2 different Yamaha Pro Series props ........ one is the standard V6 size version that ends in 'M' (like 23M for a 23",25M for a 25", etc). Then there is a 'mini' version that is designed for mid-range HP size gearcases like the 2-stroke and 4-stroke inlines and the older V-4's. These props are known as the 'K's. So the pitch for them will be like 19K,21K, etc.

    Hope this helps.
