    I have that same Triton rig and its been bulletproof. Takes rough water amazingly well and fishes just fine

    Most dependable motor for sure. Go with the Triton XR6 are easy to find mechanics and parts are easily available. May not even need jack plate and you can add a hot foot for around 2-3 hundred if ya wanted.

    I don't know about that, the 186 does a 6" plate some justice. I have a both options available and run a regular throttle most of the time, unless I know I'm gonna be challenging big water I swap over to the hotfoot.
    Seastar steering (not Baystar) definitely worth the cheddar.
